2011 - The Year of the Stomach Turmoil

2011 is proving to be the year for the stomach bug, stomach flu and other general tummy turmoil. I am so through with cleaning up throw-up or always being "on the watch" for a child to start getting sick. his latest bug seems to only last around 12 hours. Braxton got it around 9:00pm on Wednesday and he was fine by Thursday morning. Last night Kaden got it around 10:00pm and I got it around 12am. Now we're both feeling better and bale to keep food and water down. So important when Kaden is so little still! I'm thankful that Kaden slept through most of his sick time though. Obviously he was more comfortable and it made it easier since I was sick at the same time.

I knew kids getting sick was a part of the whole mommy-thing, but this is getting a little out of control.
End of October - Justin got food poisoning
November - Braxton gets the stomach flu and then it takes us down one by one. Thankfully Kaden never got it.
Beginning of December - Kaden throws up for a week because of antibioitics I was taking.
December - Braxton gets the stomach bug AGAIN and gives it to myself and Kaden.

Oye Vey! No Bueno. No fun. Too much puke for less than 2 months!

The boys got their flu shots so I know I don't have to worry about influenza, but the flu shot doesn't protect against stomach flu and stomach bugs. While I'm glad I don't have to worry about them getting a serious complication (like they could from the flu) I told our pediatrician that if they ever invent a vaccine for the stomach flu, we will be first in line!!

All I want for Christmas is healthy kids and no more puke! :-)
