Journal Entry #2
Tonight while I was making dinner, Justin said "you know, I'm pretty sure the Bible verse 'Man shall not live by bread alone' can also apply to rice." Hmmmm....Guess I have been making a lot of rice dishes lately. I just smiled and said "So chicken and rice sound good, hon?" :-)

Today, I sent Justin to the store....for mayonnaise and chocolate ice cream. Gotta love cravings. I was dying for a lunchmeat sandwich, but our off-brand mayo was not going to cut it. And the chocolate ice cream, well...need I say more? He totally went above and beyond the call of duty and came home with Double Chocolate Klondike bars, chocolate brownie chunk ice cream and Hellmans Mayonnaise. I love that man!! :-)

There are few things in this world that can compare to a Starbucks Peppermint Mocha. Have a happy Saturday everyone! I sure am! :-)

Bergen - Party of 4
Camping!
A few weekends ago I did something that shocked my friends and family...and myself. I went camping. Those that know me well, know that this is one thing I have always dreaded and avoided at any cost. But, trying to be a good wife and try new things, we loaded up and headed out to the wilderness.

This part of the forest had a wildfire go through it decades ago and it zapped all the roots so even though the trees are there, there is no foliage. It's ever so slightly creepy.

Playing ring around the smokey campfire. We had to keep moving our chairs because the wind couldn't decide which way to blow!

During the night, I got horribly sick. I hadn't been feeling well earlier in the day, but chalked it up to pregnancy. In the middle of the night I got chilled and shakes and threw up several times. I finally moved and slept in the car so as not to keep waking up the boys with going in and out of the tent. Needless to say I only got an hour or two of sleep all night. We found out when we got home that I had a fever of almost 102!! Hurray for having the flu while camping. :-P
The next morning. I sat by the campfire for about 5 minutes. We had planned an entire day of hiking and boulder-seeing, and I was so sad we had to cut it short...I was just too sick to do anything.

So overall, our camping trip was kind of a fail. BUT, before I came down with the flu, I was having a blast. I told Justin I would definitely do it again if I had the opportunity.
When camping with a toddler who is not walking...said toddler will get very very very filthy!
